Contemporary drawing

On Thursday I have a class named: Contemporary drawing. Here we get lectures about artists these days who perform contemporary drawing and we get assignments that will bring us further with drawing and our way of thinking. It is all about what drawing does to people in this society, it is not only used to be there as a sketch for the big painting, it is also a way of thinking, express your thoughts by drawing.

Here some studies I have been doing so far 













Study of an object that was in classroom, giving it another energy by the way it was drawn. I enjoyed to see what happens with the different kind of lines. At the end of the class we did a round and discussed the works we made. One of the other students said this about my work: I think it is the most interesting work to look at, because it is telling some kind of story. I was flattered to hear this, I like to design some kind of world or road you travel in as a viewer of the work. I will definitely get into this a bit more, it got my attention.

The end is near

This is going to be my year, although I am going to try my very best to make this my year, my year. It means I am going to graduate around May 2013. For this I am working on a big project and I want it to be stunning, mind blowing and more! To begin with, I want to take my Tetris project as a base for this new project. Art and Design boundaries

This is a new course I am joining, it started last week, Monday 12 March. In this course we first talked about public art, street art and environmental art. The teacher introduced us to these kinds of art by showing a powerpoint with works in there from: Banksy Anish Kapoor Niki de saint Phalle Antony Gormley After that we got the assignment: Combine things like street art, environmental art and public art. Tell the public your story, your style and everyone's creative philosophy in this project. Make your own public work for one day. I came with the next idea: I will make make ball shaped pieces of porcelain. I will stand somewhere in the public space where a lot of people are passing by. I will ask the persons who pass by, to grab 1 ball and throw it at the ground.
