Ceramics - Flower Container

We got an assignment at school to make some kind of container for any kind of flower.
The first thing I thought about was a birdhouse with a flowerpot on top of it.
Made a building plan for it:


But I changed plans and made something that is better suited to my vision.

I got inspired by something I saw somewhere at a store:



We always buy a plant with a temporary plastic container around it.
I wanted to give that plastic container a second life.





The idea is: To 'attach' them to each other by shackles.




Now I can start produce a lot off them to create a kind of snake or caterpillar.

The conclusion of this project is: The containers who normally hit the bin, after the plant is planted. Now they have a second life as toys for kids. They can make a string and fantasize that it is a snake or caterpillar.

This is going to be my year, although I am going to try my very best to make this my year, my year. It means I am going to graduate around May 2013. Art and Design boundaries

This is a new course I am joining, it started last week, Monday 12 March. In this course we first talked about public art, street art and environmental art. The teacher introduced us to these kinds of art by showing a powerpoint with works in there from: Banksy Anish Kapoor Niki de saint Phalle Antony Gormley After that we got the assignment: Combine things like street art, environmental art and public art. Tell the public your story, your style and everyone's creative philosophy in this project. Make your own public work for one day. I came with the next idea: I will make make ball shaped pieces of porcelain. I will stand somewhere in the public space where a lot of people are passing by. I will ask the persons who pass by, to grab 1 ball and throw it at the ground.
