Silkscreen printing

I joined the class of silkscreen printing. I am in many courses already but I still wanted to make the most of this exchange. When I had made my woodcut I heard a lot of comments about my drawing style - maybe you should make illustrations for books - so I decided to make a little book. It woks very easy, I print on 1 big paper and fold it at the end, cut some edges and voilá done.

I decided to pick the subject I did earlier this year. This project didn't work out because of circumstances. So this is a nice opportunity to give it another go.







After drawing/writing all the 16 field on the paper I started printing them.



After finishing the prints, I started folding the papers.

Then I sowed the books together with a sowing machine.






And here is the result.

This is going to be my year, although I am going to try my very best to make this my year, my year. It means I am going to graduate around May 2013. For this I am working on a big project and I want it to be stunning, mind blowing and more! To begin with, I want to take my Tetris project as a base for this new project. The elements that fascinated me are: - The pieces all together make something new (this can be changed every time). - The role that the owner has towards his own work. - The multifunctional pieces, they can be used for other purposes as well. Tetris is your friend, or isn't it?

The next project I am about to start goes like this: I want to make a closet but not just a normal closet but one that doesn't stand on the ground but hangs on the wall, like a painting.  I do not make shelves in it as well, so the pieces stand just on top of each other.  With pieces I mean the 5 shapes that are used in the 'Tetris game'. I would like to call all the pieces together table ware. Although it are only 5 shapes and they are only good for little dishes, table ware is still the best specification .  The part where it involves my point of view as an artist is that this 'painting' can be reorganised by the owner, and I like the fact that because of all the pieces standing op top of each other you can't take what ever you want you have to find your way through.  The repetition of the shapes make the whole work together a very interesting piece of art to look at.
